George Kademenos – There from the Beginning

George Kademenos has been there from the beginning.

A charter member of GETDOT, George has watched the organization rapidly balloon, interacting with countless faces throughout his continuing journey with the group.

09b0d62“Networking is about making connections and building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships,” he said. “GETDOT operates as a catalyst to ensure one meets the ‘right’ people to include in your network and expand your sphere of influence.”

The group offers the “most productive, most proficient and most enduring tactic to build relationships,” he added.

And as anyone who sets foot into the energetic meetings knows … it’s all about constructing relationships with others.

“People do business with those they like and trust, and GETDOT fosters the building of such relationships in a fun, social setting,” he said.

Kademenos, SPHR is a Senior Human Business Partner supporting VSP Global’s Eastern Operations Center, along with several regional offices. He’s heavily involved with VSP’s benefits administration, organizational development, talent acquisition, health/wellness programs, along with local marketing and public relations strategies.

GETDOT isn’t the only group to boast George as part of their ranks. He’s also a member of the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) and served on the Board of Directors from 1990-1997, including leading the association as Chapter President in 1996.

George was a member of the Ohio SHRM Human Resource Conference Planning Committee from 1996-2004 and was Conference Chair in 2003. During the course of 2006-2008, he led the Ohio SHRM State Council initiative of establishing and coordinating the Best Employer in Ohio recognition program.

He’s also received well-deserved spotlights and praise for his endeavors.

George was given the label of “Superstar” in Human Resources within the pages of the April 2006 issue of Columbus C.E.O. magazine, which recognized human resources professionals throughout Central Ohio. In February 2013, Business First put the spotlight on George as one 20 People to Know in Human Resources.

Trust Business First and get to know George at the next GETDOT meeting.

George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. He’s also a member of The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Hailing from Wheeling (“wild and wonderful”) West Virginia, he founded the Ohio Valley Club of Columbus (OVCC) in 2008. This particular organization was highlighted in a December 2011 Columbus Monthly article, along with several newspaper pieces.

The OVCC, with a roster of more than 600 members, is a professional and social networking group consisting of individuals who relocated to the Greater Columbus area from The Ohio Valley area. The OVCC’s tagline is… Bringing the VALLEY to Columbus!

Any transplants from the Ohio Valley area would do well to seek George out and learn more about this particular group.  The OVCC is a brother to GETDOT as far as their missions, working to make a large city appear more like a small town through constructing relationships.

Stepping outside his professional world, George is a big fan of concerts, travel (complete with dining at wonderful restaurants) and spending time with his “Big Fat Greek Family.”

He’s also a big sports fan and never without someone to root for — due to the lack of an off-season for all of his Buckeye and Pittsburgh teams.

Yes, George Kademenos has been at GETDOT from beginning.  And the benefits of networking with him seem to have no end.

Look for him at a future meeting.
