Many of us feel the pull toward service in our hearts. GETDOT may be a perfect way for you to fulfill a desire to help your community.
Countless people attend our events and get involved for two reasons: the wonderful people and the important causes. We support multiple child-based charities every single year.
Two new volunteers confirmed this when asked why they donate their time.
“I’ve met so many good people at GETDOT that share some of my core values around philanthropy and having fun!” Douglas Ramsey said. “Particularly, showcasing charities that are focused on helping the most vulnerable of us, children.”
Chris Borja, another volunteer, offered his thoughts.
“I believe that proper networking doesn’t just help businesses increase their profits, but it helps to build stronger communities in the process,” he said.
There are enough opportunities to meet nearly every interest you can imagine. This runs the gamut from business partnerships to communications and beyond. Interested parties should reach out to Eric Rine, GETDOT’s president, for more information.
You can find him at each and every event. He’s hard to miss. (In a good way. We promise.)
And you’d be surprised at the benefits beyond just the warm feelings of knowing you’ve helped others. Your volunteer activities absolutely count toward work experience. And that can make an impact on a search for new employment.
“Volunteering actually helped me land a new job after I was laid off,” said Chris Alexis. “I took some of the successes I had achieved for GETDOT, which included written work and media coverage, and used them in part to impress my then-interviewers and now-current managers.”
Looking to beef up your network, knowledge, experience, and more? Become a part of the GETDOT family. It’s easy to find board members at each and every one of our events. All you have to do is mention your interest and you’ll be greeted with tremendous warmth.
These positions aren’t demanding or difficult, but they could make a tremendous difference – in the life of a child in need, for the surrounding communities, and even for your own success.
We’re happy to answer any questions and hope to speak with you soon at the next event!
